Back to Module 4 - Searching the Web- Search Engine Task

Choose your most commonly used internet search engine and do a search with words of your choosing.

No surprises here, I used Google for my commonly used search engine. The first hit for word "English College " and the first site was www.northsydneycollege.com.au/ out of about 65,000,000 results

First 5 results were:
www.northsydneycollege.com.au/
www.uec.edu.au/
www.ace.edu.au/
www.englishaustralia.com.au
www.collegeofenglish.com.au/

Using Copernicus or similar, set it up to search at least three search engines (including one that will search the 'deep web') and repeat exactly the same searchRecord the number of hits in your learning log, and compare to your first search. What differences did you notice? Why? Which search, on first glance gave you the most promising results?

First five results were:
1. http://www.StudyGroup.com/USACollege/
2. http://www.RosettaStone.com/
3. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_College,_Douai
4. http://www.englishcollegenoosa.com/
5. http://www.ncte.org/journals/ce

The search enabled 11 search engines however I didn't receive as many results as Google- 51 results in total. At first glance I thought Google gave me more promising results as there were more of them however as you go through the list of the Google results (further into the search like page 4 and on) compared to the results on Copernic the results don't have as much relevance as the results in Copernic.
